What is Network Marketing Tanzania?

Network Marketing Tanzania is a newly formed organisation that arose from discussions I have had with a number of Network Marketers and lessons that I picked from wide range of books and other sources. I noticed resistance to join Network Marketing from certain quarters of our society and at the same time I sadly witnessed widespread illiteracy about the industry amongst members of the two companies that I have had joined before.  I therefore decided to take the lead and help educate the masses by providing them with information about Network Marketing (or multi-level marketing) that is…

  • Completely generic and unbiased - in other words, information that doesn’t favour any one particular company - nor the goods/services of any company.
  • Factual. The information must tell the good, bad and ugly of the industry, so that anyone contemplating joining can make an informed decision based on facts rather than most so common initial void excitement that will not take him through the first challenge he is going to encounter!
  • African. There is a great deal of excellent, generic information available in print, audio, video and via the Internet – but most of it has been produced in America and may not resonate very well with our socio-economic and cultural orientations of our Africa continent and the diaspora and other communities in the world.

What is our purpose?

The purpose, or Mission Statement of our website is …

  • To provide information that is unbiased, factual and relevant to Africans - so that people who are contemplating joining the Network Marketing industry, can make an informed decision.
  • To enhance the image of the Network Marketing industry by building mutual trust and respect among all companies and individuals
  • To help Network Marketers from all companies to grow their businesses, by providing quality information and training that is relevant.

Additional Goals include the following...

  • To enhance the public and professional image of Network Marketing
  • To help those who are new to Network Marketing to understand and appreciate the value of our industry.
  • To encourage people to edify all reputable companies and individuals in the Network Marketing industry.
  • To operate on the highest ethical plane at all times.
  • To treat Member's personal information with the highest confidentiality and integrity. (Under no circumstances, will we sell, trade or give Member's personal or business information to any other person, business, organization or regulators).
  • To provide Members with the best possible service. Our objective is to under-promise and over-deliver.
  • To have fun! And to encourage others to have fun also - by providing information in a professional, but also informal, typically African manner.

"It is our responsibilities - not ourselves - that we should take seriously."

Network Marketing can be great fun if we focus on helping other people reach their goals instead of making money for ourselves. As one of the leading personalities in salesmanship Zig Ziglar said, you can succeed in reaching your goals only by making many more people reach theirs.

Who founded this initiative?

This website was founded by Benson Mahenya from discussions I have had with a number of Network Marketers and lessons that I picked from a wide range of books and other sources. I noticed resistance to join Network Marketing from certain quarters of our society and at the same time I sadly witnessed widespread illiteracy about the industry amongst members of the two companies that I have had joined before. The myths, the exaggerations, outright lies, ignorance, invasion by numerous pyramid schemes and its catastrophic aftermaths, all these prompted me to think on how to help my people, my African brothers and sisters wherever they are, get to know the skills of the trade.

Who is NWMT

NWMT is you the independent distributors, and you the suspects that are considering jumping on board before it is too late! It is us collectively together! I am just a vehicle to bring us together!

Because Network Marketing is a 'Home-based Business' - each of the members of NWMT work from their own individual home-offices in various locations around Africa and beyond. The globalization of the world economy has been aided a lot by the industry. Members can recruit other members from any parts of the world and communicate via e-mail and telephone etc.  Truly multinational companies can be found in the network marketing industry!

When did NWMT commence?

I joined my second network marketing company in mid 2007 after a long dormant spell with the first company. This time I decided to seriously learn the secret behind this enormous industry. The concept of NWMT commenced in 2008 after touring many parts of Tanzania to support and train our distributors. This was followed by the publication of the first ever Swahili book on Network Marketing that I published in March 2009. The book was advertised in one regional magazine of a leading Network Marketing company. And it was serialized in one leading Swahili daily paper in Tanzania. The response I received from different parts of Tanzania and East Africa in general was encouraging and sufficient enough to propel me forward with other initiatives to promote the industry.

Is NWMT anti-American?

Absolutely not! Far from it!

I have benefitted immensely from the rich knowledge base accumulated by our American colleagues in the industry.  Books by Randy Gage, John Milton Fogg, Tom Schreiter, Tim Sales, Dr. Tom Barrett, Dr. Joe Rubino, Jan Ruhe, the late Jim Rohn - and many others have been and will continue to form a basis of my many writings and lectures in the days to come.

It’s just that - because of our different cultures - there is a perceived need for information about our business that gives figures, illustrations and examples that Africans can relate to. The low levels of literacy and numeracy, the physical challenges in technology and infrastructure, relatively smaller proportion of urban dwellers in Africa and many more peculiar aspects call for a new approach for disseminating information about the industry in Africa.

Even though NWMT is unashamedly African-based, we will, never-the-less, from time to time, call on the expertise, entertainment (and wisdom) of some of the above-mentioned International trainers.

How will people find us?

NWMT is about to engage professional Internet marketing consultants to help drive traffic to the NWMT website. This - like the development of this website - is an on-going process, one which is anticipated to have our site at the 'top of the wozza' with most search engines by mid 2010.
